Cotton Statement on the Water Resources Reform and Development Act of 2014
Washington, D.C.– Congressman Tom Cotton (R-Dardanelle) released the following statement on the passage of the Water Resources Reform and Development Act of 2014 (WRRDA):
House Financial Services Committee
Today I spoke on the House Floor on an amendment I offered to the Water Resources Reform and Development Act of 2013. This amendment would grant local and regional water entities the authority to collaborate with the Army Corps of Engineers on how to address their excess water supply. This issue primarily impacts rural water districts in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas who have not achieved the population-growth estimates established for them in the 1958 Water Supply Act.
